My Son In A Fan Art - Blender

I put my son in a fan art of a Ghibli movie. The movie is called Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea.
I've had this idea for quite a while now, and lately I decided to do this now before my son grows past the age and look of the main character, Sosuke. Sosuke in the movie is said to be 5 years old. My son at the moment of creating this artwork is also 5, so it's perfect. Although the final render is quite short and most of the filming stuffs I have no knowledge of, but I'm still happy with the result, it is a fun little project, actually the most fun I had for quite some time.
Fun fact: My wife and I watched the movie together and loved it so much that when we had our son we decide to nicknamed him Pon, short for Ponyo.
I created this in Blender. I learnt from Ian Hubert the trick to put video onto a plane with alpha, the environment is all 3D. I also created a pencil coloring shader for this artwork, since the movie has a distinctive coloring style. Everything is very straight forward, 3D model with texture and cel shading material that has outline.
The only 2D elements in this artwork is my son and the hand lifting the lid, which I filmed my wife lifting a small ceramic plate on a white background. All the rotoscoping (which I just learnt about, meaning mask out the subject in every frame) is done automatically in a rotoscoping platform called runwayml, it is quite easy to use and also free (if you're happy with 720p).
The noodle and ingredients is modeled and handpainted, to model instant noodle is kinda tricky, they are curly and packed closed together. I simulated the noodle pieces in Blender and then adjusted the model so they look like actual instant noodle.
Hope you'll find this interesting.
