The Königsberg Castle, located in Prussia (now Kaliningrad, Russia), is a place rich in culture and history. Built in the 13th century by the Teutonic Knights, this castle has witnessed many important events in European history. It is a symbol of the strength and power of the Teutonic Kingdom, and later Prussia. During World War II, the castle was completely destroyed.
The figure on the horse is Frederick The Great (also known as Old Fritz), one of the kings of Prussia. Frederick's life was extremely tragic, having witnessed his lover being beheaded and then imprisoned. Upon ascending the throne, Frederick proved himself to be a talented leader, known for his military prowess and significant contributions to the development of the country, greatly influencing Europe in the 18th century.
Frederick died in an armchair in his study at the age of 74. In his will, he wished to be buried with his dog in his vineyard. A wish that was not fulfilled until 1991.
